| STEPHEN
MOONEY BSc (Hons), MBA |
| |
| Until joining Energy-Link as a Director in June 2002, Stephen was Finance
Director of Bridge of Cally Energy Investments Ltd, an investment
management company that traded for a Cayman Islands hedge fund, investing
in European energy commodity markets.
Stephen has also worked with a number of blue chip clients in the UK on a
consultancy basis while at Bridge of Cally, advising particularly on trading and risk related issues.
Prior to leaving Scottish and Southern Energy plc (SSE) in 2000, Stephen
spent twelve years with the company and its forebearer, Scottish Hydro-Electric plc, principally in developing the Energy Trading division. Stephen
was significantly involved in business strategy and as part of his role advised
the company on fuel and energy strategy especially within the de-regulation
framework. In fact, Stephen was called in by Carlo to assist in the 1998 SHE
corporate strategy exercise to address regulatory and competitive market
pressures that ultimately played a part in the merger with Southern Electric.
During the late nineties Stephen ran a team of twelve staff members,
performing the middle office functions of generation, contract gas and spot gas
planning for an annual energy portfolio value of over £1bn. This also involved
developing and implementing the exposure control and reporting environment,
and maintaining the portfolio within the agreed risk limits.
Like Paul, Stephen had also been responsible for leading small teams in a
number of senior negotiating roles for major long-term gas purchases, of values in excess of
£50m per annum. Through his current work with Energy-Link, Stephen also has considerable
experience of the Irish energy market. |
